hossegor, france

September 15-21, 2024

If you’ve never heard of Hossegor, it’s this remote and dune-y and ultra-charming surf village on the Atlantic Coast of France. Home to one of the most spectacular beach-break waves on the planet, its lunar energy is unparalleled. For one full week, we’ll tap into our yin and creative sides, unlocking new depths of self-expression. The itinerary includes day trips to idyllic Biarritz + historic San Sebastián, down time to explore the lake and ocean, and lots of yoga + workshops to harness your creative essence.

retreat intention: creativity

primary chakras: sacral + throat

natural element/quality: space/potential

six (6) nights accommodation

It doesn’t get more beachfront than our très cool, 8-bedroom villa. Situated directly on La Plage Sud, we’re walkable to shops, restaurants, Lac d’Hossegor (the lake), and surf spots for all levels. Enjoy quiet time in the garden out back or people-watch from our patio that sits along the main boardwalk. The den pictured here will be converted to our yoga space so we can have ocean views for our sunrise salutations.

fifteen (15) hours of yoga + workshops

The sacral + throat chakras will be the muse for more-creative hatha and truth-seeking yin styles of yoga. We’ll open spaces in the body that hold our highest creative potential and then apply the imagination in real-time. A highlight of this retreat is our four (4) creation-inspired workshops:

  • The Sacral Chakra: Center of Joy + Creativity

  • Design Your Own Flow: An Experience as Student + Teacher

  • Artistic Perspective: Sharing Your Vision + Personal Brand

  • My Body is My Temple: Creating Art Through Yoga Asana

san sebastian Day Trip

For the first time ever, we’re crossing international borders on a Pa’lante Yoga retreat! Just an hour south of Hossegor is the most idyllic Spanish town of San Sebastián - a place I used to call home. Highlights of this day trip include:

  • Group hike along El Camino De Santiago: Route from Donostia - Pasaia

  • Beautiful beaches: Zurriola (surfing) + La Concha (sunbathing)

  • La Parte Vieja: Famous streets for sightseeing and people-watching

  • Free time to roam

Biarritz day Trip

Biarritz is effortlessly cool and the local vibe is surf-hippie chic. There are a long stretches of open coastline and also tiny nooks for sunbathing. Surfing, shopping, and photography are some of my favorite Biarritz pastimes. This town is an artists’ dream and only 30-minutes from our home base in Hossegor.

FUll Moon Ceremony

On September 18th, we’ll spend the evening going inward, underneath the Autumnal Harvest Supermoon. As the moon orbits slightly outside of its traditional sphere, it appears more expansive and brighter from earth. We’ll take time to reflect on that symbolism: beauty beyond the comfort zone.

Daily breakfast + Dinner

A healthy breakfast will kickstart each of our adventure-filled days and we’ll explore new, local restaurants each night. One entree and non-alcoholic beverage included at each meal.

common questions

Q: Do you need to surf to come on this retreat?
A: Definitely not! While surfing is certainly one of the very fun things to do in Hossegor + Biarritz + San Sebastián, it’s more of an added bonus. What I love about all of these towns is that it’s fun to explore for surfers and non-surfers alike.

Q: Is Hossegor safe?
A: Super! You can really relax and settle in here. I’d even recommend renting a bike one day to explore the lake and surrounding area. Feel free to roam, just be mindful while wandering solo, like always.

Q: I’m nervous about getting to the destination alone. Can you help me?
A: Of course! Before the retreat, I will send all of my suggestions for transportation services, including private shuttle options. I will also share with the group when everyone else lands, in case you want to coordinate travel together. Plus, I’ll be on standby at the destination, awaiting your arrival!

Q: Should I bring cash?
A: Almost everywhere in town will accept card but please bring a little cash for your airport shuttle driver and maybe some goodies at the local bakery.
