nosara, costa rica

July 24-28, 2024

for the:
warrior

Nosara is situated in the heart of the Nicoya Peninsula - one of the five main Blue Zones in the world, with locals living longer than average and often reaching 100 years of age. They attribute their longevity to balance between work and play, a strong sense of community, connection with their land and its resources, and a purpose they call their “plan de vida.”This yoga-intensive retreat is designed to explore each of those components and reinvigorate passion for a longer and more meaningful life.

retreat intention: longevity

primary chakras: Sacral + Solar Plexus

NATURAL ELEMENT/QUALITY: water/cohesion

Four (4) nights accommodation

Situated in the heart of Playa Guiones, our private jungle hotel is walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the main beach entrance. The hotel has a pool and bar for you to enjoy and an expansive rooftop yoga deck for our daily practice.

Fifteen (15) hours of yoga + workshops

In Costa Rica, they have this cute philosophy about longevity: sea turtles and whales are some of the longest-living creatures in the animal kingdom and they can both hold their breath for over an hour. If we look to them for biological wisdom, the deeper you breathe, the longer you live. So we’re taking time to slow down, breathe deeper, and cherish our one precious life a little bit more.

With the sacral + solar plexus chakras as our focus, we’ll alternate between yin and yang energies, incorporating hatha, yin, and restorative styles of practice.

This retreat also features a few longevity-inspired workshops:

  • Inner Radiance: Unlocking the Life-Force Within

  • Mindfulness: Balancing Effort with Ease for Manifestation

  • “Plan de Vida”: Owning Your Soul’s Purpose

  • Movement for Mobility: The Link Between Organic + Muscular Energy

Daily breakfast + Dinner

Everything in Nosara is vibrant, healthy, and locally sourced. Organic breakfasts are included each day after our morning yoga flow and we’ve hired a private chef to prepare all of our dinners. Meals together is always a highlight of every retreat with so many stories to be shared. In Spanish, we call this “sobremesa” - lingering at the dinner table in good conversation.

Pink Sand Island boat trip

Our local crew is awaiting our annual arrival. We’ve been going to Nosara for years and have the coolest ocean guides for our sunset sail. This trip includes a coastal cruise, a swim around Pink Sand Island, and (hopefully) incredible wildlife encounters - quintessential Costa Rica. Drinks, coconuts, and fresh fruit included. Salud!

Closing Cacao Ceremony

On our last night together, we will gather one last time in community to share in heart-opening and intention-setting. This is where we harmonize everything we have learned throughout the retreat so that the impact is long-lasting.

common questions

Q: Do you need to surf to come on this retreat?
A: Definitely not! While surfing is certainly one of the very fun things to do in Nosara, it’s more of an added bonus. What I love about Nosara is that it’s fun to explore for surfers and non-surfers alike. Not everywhere in Costa Rica is like that.

Q: I’m not that “spiritual.” Is the cacao ceremony going to be uncomfortable for me?
A: Cacao is a Latin American plant, that elicits a natural state of relaxation and joy. For some people, coffee or tea has this same effect. Our cacao ceremony is simply a community gathering that you can think of like Thanksgiving. The only thing being asked of you is your presence. And you’re more than welcome to sit out, if you decide you’re not ready for it.

Q: Is Costa Rica safe?
A: The safest! As a solo female traveler, this is something I take very seriously, too. Costa Rica is so safe, in fact, they’re one of the few countries without a military. Just follow standard safety protocol while traveling anywhere and you’ll be good!

Q: I’m nervous about getting to the destination alone. Can you help me?
A: Of course! Before the retreat, I will send all of my suggestions for transportation services, including private shuttle options. I will also share with the group when everyone else lands, in case you want to coordinate travel together. Plus, I’ll be on standby at the destination, awaiting your arrival!

Q: Should I bring cash?
A: Most places accept card now in Costa Rica but please bring cash for your airport shuttle driver and maybe some beachside coconuts.
